Episode #12 – Closing the Digital Divide and Connecting for Good with Michael Liimatta

In Episode 12 of the OKCast I discuss the work of the Connecting for Good with Michael Liimatta, their Executive Director. You can reach Michael on Twitter . Connecting for Good is premised on the belief that Internet connectivity drives opportunity, that education now depends on the Internet, and that Internet connectivity should be treated like a necessary utility. They are working in Kansas City to make access happen by developing wireless networks, offering low-cost PCs, and providing digital life skills classes. You can find out more about Michael and Connecting for Good on their website at connectingforgood.org.

Show Notes

Alex Fink

Editor & Host at The OKCast
In addition to hosting the OKCast, I am a Ph.D. student in Youth Studies at the University of Minnesota. I study methods of making research to document injustice and resistance available to young people to create social change. My particular focus is on the political economy and ecology of data, including data collection, data use, data access/sharing, data economics, and the ideologies surrounding it.
